Optimal stock - out risk for a component mounted on several assembly lines in the case of emergency supplies
نویسندگان
چکیده
This article examines the optimal stock-out risk for a component used by alternative modules mounted on several assembly lines. The studied context is a supply chain dedicated to the mass production of highly diversified products, which is common in the automotive industry. The material requirement planning (MRP) approach is adapted to monitor this chain; however, the distance between the production units leads to a mix between production to stock and production to order for the component of interest. To prevent stock-out propagation along the downstream part of the supply chain, the requirement for an emergency supply is triggered prior to the latter’s occurrence. The definition of the optimal safety stock and its associated optimal stock-out risk are based on a mono-period model that considers the cost of a safety stock and the costs incurred by the emergency supply (transportation and production). The analytical solutions dependent on these costs are illustrated.

متن کاملOptimal Stockout Risk for a Component Mounted on Several Assembly Lines in Case of Emergency Supplies
This paper presents an approach on how to identify and design adaptable logistics chains configurations. Logistics chains are mostly influenced by changes in their business environment. A system’s adaptability is seen as one potential to effectively counteract these environmental changes. To consider the effects of adaptability on the whole supply chain, a framework for configuring adaptable lo...
متن کاملA Basic Period Approach for Solving the Economic Lot and Delivery Scheduling in Flexible Flow Lines
In this paper, the problem of lot sizing, scheduling and delivery of several items in a two-stage supply chain over a finite planning horizon is studied. Single supplier via a flexible flow line production system (FFL), produces several items and delivers them directly to an assembly facility. Based on basic period (BP) strategy, a new mixed zero-one nonlinear programming model has been develop...

One of the most important concerns of investors in financial markets is choosing a share or stock portfolio that is optimal in terms of profitability. To this end, there are many ways in which the stock portfolio has been chosen. The optimal portfolio selection is a portfolio management goal. In this dissertation, the DEA technique has been used as a new and reliable way to select the stock opt...
متن کاملOptimal Portfolio Selection for Tehran Stock Exchange Using Conditional, Partitioned and Worst-case Value at Risk Measures
This paper presents an optimal portfolio selection approach based on value at risk (VaR), conditional value at risk (CVaR), worst-case value at risk (WVaR) and partitioned value at risk (PVaR) measures as well as calculating these risk measures. Mathematical solution methods for solving these optimization problems are inadequate and very complex for a portfolio with high number of assets. For t...
